ACTUAL ITINERARY

Day 1
10am-1pm – Traveled from Manila to Cuenca
1pm – Arrived at Cuenca market – had lunch and did marketing
2pm – Arrived at the last ‘tindahan’, prepare for trek
315pm – Start of trek
5pm – Arrived at campsite – rest then set-up camp
530pm – Trek to the rockies for the sunset
630pm – Back at the campsite, prepare for dinner
7pm – Dinner and socials

I remembered my first Maculot climb back in the 90's.  It was a night trek and the trail is not as wide as today.  Back then, root twigs served as our ladder to ascend the steep trail.

For this climb, the rockies was all ours that time.  The view of the sunset and fun shots coupled with the full moon completed our day.  The moon light has always been a good complement for hikers during the socials at night.

930-1030am – Trek from campsite to nanay’s store
1130am – Left Cuenca for Tagaytay
1245pm – Stop over at on-going resort along the Taal lake
130pm – Arrived at Mushroom Burger in Tagaytay for a late lunch
230-4pm – Traveled from Tagaytay to Manila
415pm – Home sweet home

It was my  nth  time at Mt. Maculot but it was my first time to see a giant millepede roaming around the campsite.  Truly amazing!

For the side trip, we went to Tagaytay and had merienda at Mushroom Burger.  Along the way, we did a quick stop over in a resort that was still under development.
